Axillary Web Syndrome (AWS) — also known as cording — is a common side effect of lymph node surgery.
The cords can be painful and may restrict movement, but it’s important to know that cording is not something you have to “learn to live with.” There are effective ways to manage it, and the majority of cords can go away within three months.
